第61講：仮定法の基本
仮定法過去（現在のこと）
If節の中は「過去形」、帰結節（主節）には「助動詞の過去形」になります。
・If I were you, I would be an actor.
仮定法過去完了（過去のこと）
If節の中は「had+過去分詞」、帰結節（主節）には「助動詞の過去形+have+過去分詞」になります。
・If I had rained yesterday, we would have stayed home.
・If I had followed your advice then, I would have succeeded.
If節と主節で表す時が異なる場合
If節の中は「had+過去分詞」で過去のことを言っている一方、主節は「助動詞の過去形」で現在のことを言っています。
・If I had followed your advice then, I would be rich now.
第62講：If it were not for…
If it were not for… は「〜がなかったら」という意味の文章です。この文章ではIfを省略することができます。また、その他の省略方法もあります。
仮定法過去（現在のこと）
・If it were not for your help, I would fail the test.（仮定法過去：現在のこと）
・Were it not for your help, I would fail the test.（Ifを省略）
・If not for your help, I would fail the test.
・But for your help, I would fail the test.
・Without your help, I would fail the test.
仮定法過去完了（過去のこと）
・If it had not been for your help, I would have failed the test.（仮定法過去完了：過去のこと）
・Had it not been for your help, I would have failed the test.（Ifを省略）
・If not for your help, I would have failed the test.
・But for your help, I would have failed the test.
・Without your help, I would have failed the test.
第63講：wishの後の仮定法
wishの文章にも仮定法を使います。
仮定法過去（現在のこと）
現在のことには「過去形」を使います。
・I wish you were here.
・I wish you would be here.
・I with you could be here.
仮定法過去完了（過去のこと）
過去のことには「had+過去分詞」「助動詞の過去形+have+過去分詞」を使います。
・The movie was great. I wish you had been there with me.
・I wish you had been there.
・I wish you would have been there.
・I wish you could have been there.
余談：映画を見に行くという表現
・I went to the movies. （アメリカ英語）
・I went to the cinema. （イギリス英語）
・I went to see a movie.
・I went to see a film.（イギリス英語）
第64講：仮定法未来
If節の中でwere toを使うと未来のことについての文章になります。
・If I were to live to be 200, I would have many relatives.
・Were I to live to be 200, I would have many relatives.
If節の中でshouldを使うこともあります。
・If you should have any questions, please let me know.
・Should you have any questions, please let me know.
・Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
・Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
第65・66講：仮定法現在
recommendなどの動詞の場合、目的語となる部分（that節）の動詞が原型になります。この形をとる動詞は、以下のように命令・要求・提案・お願い・忠告・警告・推奨など「やれ！」という意味合いのものが多いです。
・order, demand, propose
・insist, suggest
・require, request, ask
・advise, warn recommend
例文
・The teacher recommended that the students be on time.
・The teacher ordered that the students stop talking.
・The teacher required that the students be on time.
・The teacher requested that the students be on time.
・The teacher asked that the students be on time.
・The teacher advised that the students study hard.
・The teacher recommended that the students study hard.
・The teacher demanded that the students sit down.
・The teacher proposed that the students cooperate.
insistやsuggestの場合は、意味によって仮定法現在にできるものとできないものがあります。
insist：「要求する」の場合は仮定法現在にできますが「主張する」の場合はできません
suggest：「提案する」の場合は仮定法現在にできますが「「ほのめかす」の場合はできません
・The teacher insisted that the students be on time. （仮定法現在：時間を守るよう要求）
・The teacher insisted that the students were on time. （時間通りだったと主張した）
・The teacher suggested that the students study hard.（仮定法現在：一生懸命勉強するよう提案した）
・Their grades suggested that the students studied hard.（一生懸命勉強したことをほのめかした）
その他、必要・重要・不可欠など「やれ！」というニュアンスの場合も、that節の動詞に原型がきます。
・It is essential that students be on time.
・It is vital that students be on time.
・It is desirable that students be on time.
・It is important that students be on time.
・It is necessary that students be on time.
・Susan made a suggestion that John be removed from this post.
