John welcomed the arriving guests.

I saw some smiling people.(現在分詞→能動)
・Jane sent a written message.(過去分詞→受動)

John welcomed the guests arriving at the wedding.(現在分詞→能動)
・John fixed the window broken by Ken.(過去分詞→受動)
・There were many people smiling at the baby.(現在分詞→能動)
・Jane got a message written by Ken.(過去分詞→受動)

Ken was surprised at the results.
・Ke was excited by the game.
・I was interested in the TV show.
・I was tired from the meeting.
・I was tired of the meeting.
・I was annoyed by the weather.

The results were surprising.
・The baseball game was very exciting.
・The TV show was interesting.
・The meeting was tiring.
・The weather was annoying.

・John was annoyed.
・John was annoying. (John

・Ken was amazing.(Ken

Entering the room, I saw John.
・Seeing John, I became happy.

一方下のような場合は、the island is seen from the skyなので、分詞構文は「Seen from the sky」になります。

・Seen from the sky, the island looks like a dog.
・Born in New Zealand, Ken is a great rugby player.

Unable to speak English, John was at a loss.

Not knowing what to do, Ken went home.
・Not looking carefully, Ken got hit by a car.

Having finished his work, Kent went home.
・Having eaten too much, Ken got a stomachache.

Not having finished his work, Ken stayed at his office.
・Not having brought his wallet, Ken couldn’t buy a drink.

Judging from the weather, the game might be canceled.
Frankly speaking, you should quit your job.
Speaking of John, I heard he got married last month.
Considering the weather, the game might be canceled.
Given the weather, the game might be canceled.
Weather permitting, the game will be held.

Ken was sitting with his arms crossed.
・Ken was sitting with his arms folded.
・Ken was sitting with his legs crossed.
・Ken was sitting with his legs folded.
・Ken was sitting with his eyes closed.
